Technology Overview
OHSU # 2187 — Mouse CD74: Design, codon optimization, cloning, expression in E coli, and purification
Summary
Recombinant mouse CD74 for use as a research reagent to explore CD74 protein interactions.
Technology Overview
This recombinant mouse CD74 is a 191 amino acid residue polypeptide that lacks the C-terminal thyroglobulin domain. It is an E. coli expressed mouse protein that includes the intracellular domain (N-terminal amino acid residues 1 to 30), the transmembrane domain (amino acid residues 31 to 55) and the extracellular domain (amino acid residues 56 to 191). This protein would be useful for studies aimed at exploring protein-protein interactions, for blocking experiments of the MIF cytokine activity and could be useful to explore its interaction with other proteins that have been suggested to bind CD74. Features of this recombinant protein include:
- Demonstrated ability to bind MIF1, several monoclonal antibodies used in CD74 research, and recombinant human and mouse Class II proteins.
- High stability for at least six months under low non-ionic detergent conditions at -80˚C.
- Applications for protein-protein interactions; blocking experiments of MIF (macrophage inhibitory factor) cytokine activity; and interactions with other proteins that have been suggested to bind CD74.
