80% of blindness is preventable.

OHSU Casey Eye Institute is committed to eliminating preventable blindness and improving quality of life through leadership in the art, science and technology of eye care.

Because the year 2020 corresponds to “20/20 vision”, Casey Eye Institute is powering The Eye Love Project — to collect and share stories of how vision enriches our daily lives.

These stories will help us celebrate the importance of sight and the wonder of vision, together.

Vision is something that we often take for granted, yet profoundly affects our quality of life. 80-85% of our perception, learning and activities are processed through vision, which helps us do the activities we enjoy, see the people we love and so much more. It is time to celebrate sight, change the way we think about our eyes and focus on healthy vision in 2020 and beyond.
We believe in the importance of ending preventable blindness, so at OHSU Casey Eye Institute we are creating advanced technology, doing cutting edge research, and providing programs that help people in Oregon and around the world access quality eye care. Learn more about keeping your eyes healthy, the impact of sight and how Casey is improving vision.
