Wait times are approximate and provided for informational purposes only. The emergency room is an unpredictable environment that changes from minute to minute; ER wait times cannot be guaranteed upon arrival.
The wait times displayed are refreshed every 15 minutes and represent the estimated time it takes to see a qualified medical professional (doctor, nurse practitioner or physician assistant). Wait times are based on the longest recent wait time of a patient currently waiting in the emergency room.
All incoming patients are evaluated based on their current condition; some patients may be seen before others depending on the severity of each patient’s condition.
Know your rights as a patient. EMTALA (Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act) is a federal law that requires hospital emergency departments to medically screen every patient who seeks emergency care and to stabilize or transfer those with medical emergencies (when appropriate), regardless of health insurance status or ability to pay. See the American College of Emergency Physicians website for more information.
